GASTRONOMY
In this Magical Town, you can delight in the best of Yucatecan cuisine, which is internationally renowned. Be sure to try the traditional salbutes, panuchos, papadzules, cochinita pibil, queso relleno, mucbil de pollo, and tamales, accompanied by a rich (and very spicy) habanero chili sauce.
For dessert, we recommend trying typical sweets like yuca with honey, candied pumpkin, sweet potato with coconut, melcocha (taffy), and pumpkin seed marzipan. In this destination, you can also taste native Yucatecan beverages such as xtabentun and carabanchel.

In Valladolid, it’s common to see women wearing simple huipiles with lace and embroidery on the neck and dress hem, while men often wear traditional jipijapa hats and cool guayaberas. These types of garments and accessories can be bought at excellent prices in the markets and handicraft shops located within the city.
